"Reading is Love in Action"
Do you have memories of sitting with a trusted adult and listening to a story, or reading the same book over and over again to your child as they snuggled with you?
These experiences are not only the epitome of quality time, but they also are key components in brain development for young children.
Research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has found that "more stimulating reading activities in the home environment prior to kindergarten are related to better-developed brain structure and also function in supporting literacy."
This is the aim of the ParentChild+ Program
Our Early Learning Specialists are going into the homes and small childcare centers of children ages 16 months to 4 years to work with parents and caregivers to ensure that these key moments happen. These sessions introduce concepts such as colors, shapes, and letters- all of which will help boost a child's success in preschool and beyond.
Each child in the program will receive a library of books and guide sheets with activities to encourage reading and play at home with their loved ones!
Here's how you can share the love of reading!
The ParentChild+ Team is getting ready to work with a new batch of families and small daycare centers in the community.
To do this, supplies are needed!
