Volunteering at MEAC
MONDAY TRUCK DRIVER
We need reliable, licensed drivers to drive MEAC’s box truck to the Freestore Foodbank to pick up food for the Marketplace on Monday mornings by 9:30am.
Additional runs to partnering organizations may occur during the week based on volunteer availability.
TUESDAY Marketplace volunteers
We are seeking volunteers to help in Marketplace (MEAC’s choice food pantry) on Tuesdays in the morning and/or afternoon for these positions:
Cart runner: Takes carts outside to the cars once shoppers have fulfilled the orders.
Runner: Is posted in McCord to make sure that any items that are out of stock are crossed off the list, checks lists, helps communicate that to the neighbors, and brings completed sheets down to the Marketplace to be shopped.
Shopper: Responsible for fulfilling neighbor orders in the Marketplace (may also restock shelves as needed)
While no extreme lifting is required, this is a very active role!
Marketplace shopping takes place every Tuesday. Volunteer shifts are from 9am-noon, 12-3pm most Tuesdays, and 1-3pm and 3-6pm on the last Tuesday of each month.
